A local rancher and a former businessman, Don began his painting career fairly recently. Inspired by the details of ordinary life, Don likes to paint images that reveal emotion and expression. Don particularly likes working in oils, as well as figure drawing and sketching. Working from both live models and photographs, Don captures the inner thoughts and feelings of his subject, and in finding the beauty in everyday things.
Don is involved in a number of community activities, and is also a member of the Wichita Falls Art Association and the Gainesville Area Visual Arts club (GAVA), as well as acting President of the Montague Institute of Arts.
