Debbie Malone has been fascinated by stained glass art since a small child. She has always been intrigued on how things were made and liked the challenge of figuring things out for herself. Since there were no classes available at that time, she simply taught herself! Debbie developed a real passion for glass and art, realizing that it was a combination of textures, colors, shapes and light that all played a vital part in the beauty of a finished work of art.
She spent seventeen years working in architectural design, and incorporates much of the basic elements of layout and design into her art today.
Debbie likes to "push the envelope" on what she can do with glass, from decorative soldering to manipulating glass in the kiln. She is always in pursuit of funky, edgy, over-the-top, gallery quality pieces. Her art is definitely not your typical stained glass! Debbie also carries that design philosophy over to her abstract paintings and sculptures.
Debbie also creates and designs jewelry, custom windows, and 3-D art forms - as well as teaches art. She is 2012-2013 President of the Texas Glass Artists Association, Debbie's work can be seen online at www.artfulartglass.com, as well as the Funky Firefly Gallery in Chico, Texas.
