Ginger's still life oil painting "End of the Day" is one of her western-themed paintings. She works in both oils and colored pencils, creating wonderful still lifes, wildlife art, and western art. Ginger also has done a number of plein air paintings on location in Texas and Wyoming, both of which she calls home. Living for a time in Australia, she also has traveled to Italy, Africa, Argentina, England where she painted extensively.
A member of the CTAA since 2007, Ginger has twice been voted as "Artist of the Month".
April 2011 "Artist of the Month" Gale Cochran-Smith
Gale's photograph on canvas "Twisted View" was taken at the top of Mount Scott in the Wichita Mountains of Oklahoma. Gale does both photography and painting, primarily working in watercolor, although she also enjoys pastels and other media. Gale also is a graphic artist, doing websites and marketing pieces for local artists and small businesses.
A member of the CTAA since 2007, Gale has twice been voted as "Artist of the Month". She served two years as the group's Vice President before being elected as President in 2011.
Jesse's photograph of a neighbor's bulldog shows whimsy and humor. Jesse has specialized for many years in taking photographs, primarily of railroad subjects - but recently he has broadened his focus to other subjects including animals, landscapes, and flowers. He also designs and creates jewelry, in addition to dabbling in oil painting.
Dr. Jesse E. Coulson is a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice in Bowie, where he has lived for the past six years. Previously he was a college psychology professor in Waxhachie and before that a Chief Psychologist at the Wichita Falls State Hospital. In addition to his counseling practice, he is an ordained minister. Jessee joined the CTAA in 2011.
Pat's pencil drawing of a young girl reflects the mischievous personality of the subject. Pat specializes in portraits of children and pets, capturing the essence of whoever she draws. She works in pencil,colored pencil and in oils, paying particular attention to the subject's eyes, which she believes is the mirror of the soul.
Pat has been a member of the CTAA since 2007 and has acted as an officer of the organization each year. This is the second time she has been voted as "Artist of the Month".
