The September meeting will be an open meeting to welcome and encourage artists in the area to bring one piece of their art work and have noted artist, Blair Currin, offer a critique. This meeting is open to CTAA members and non-members alike.
Blair Currin is highly qualified for the task. He attended the Art School of the Southwest in Cloudcroft, New Mexico, where his grandfather, Harold Roney, taught landscape painting. Blair later graduated with a degree in graphic design from Texas State University in 1979. He has studied with many instructors - Matt Smith, Kevin Macpherson, Scott Christensen, Ray Roberts, Bruce Peil, and Dennis Blagg - each layering new knowledge to shape his own personal direction.
Blair has participated in many juried competitions and exhibitions and his works are in several private collections. He also enjoys teaching, sharing his enthusiasm and knowledge. Blair is a career artist, working and teaching from his studio in Aledo, Texas.
His philosophy of finding satisfaction in the journey not just the destination, has led him to say "The product will happen if the process is enjoyed. That is, the enjoyment will surface from a healthy dose of hard work."
