January 2012 "Artist of the Month" - Rita Rae Dyer
Rita's dry-brush watercolor painting titled "Memories of Grandma" tells the story of a path to childhood memories of a grandmother's love found in a forgotten corner of a dusty room.
Rita Rae Dyer specializes in dry-brush watercolor, oil portraits and landscapes, but she also does photography and mixed media. Holding numerous state and national awards, Rita's work is displayed in private collections throughout the nation as well overseas. Rita holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and has taught private lessons and in private schools for over twenty years. She currently is involved in commission sales, logo design and private instruction near her home in southern Wise County and has been a member of CTAA since 2011. March 2012 "Artist of the Month" - Paula Henson
Paula's acrylic painting of a grey tree squirrel is wonderfully detailed. Paula also works in watercolor, as well as spends her time managing the "Dog Days Art Studio & Gallery" in Nocona.
A retired teacher, Paula loves spending time creating and teaching art. She joined the CTAA in 2012, and can be reached via email at jpbenterprises@windstream.net.
April 2012 "Artist of the Month" - Jesse Coulson
Jesse's photograph of a field of bluebonnets under a dead tree show his love of nature and the beauty of outdoors.
Jesse spend his free time away from his licensed counseling practice doing photography and oil painting, and in creating unique pieces of jewelry. He joined the CTAA in 2011, and can be reached via email at jecoulson@sbcglobal.net.
Jan's acrylic floral bouquet and Gale's watercolor pear tied for the month's honor. Both Jan and Gale have been members of CTAA since 2008, and both currently hold offices in the organization.
