Sharon has always loved color and design. She majored in Education with an Art minor at Texas Tech University and later taught art in the Dallas ISD. She discovered the beauty of glass while taking classes at the Dallas Creative Arts Center, and was an apprentice at Molloy's Mirror and Art Glass. She opened a leaded glass business creating stained glass windows and doors for home installations, including the mausoleum windows for Margaret and Ray Hunt. Twenty-five years ago, the dangers of lead inhalation caused Sharon to discover her fascination of fusing glass using a kiln, which is now her favorite art medium. Sharon has won many awards, including three first place finishes and a master award at the State Fair of Texas and the Nocona Nights Festival grand award. Sharon's work can be seen in various shops, art fairs, her home studio, and on her website at www.shinesbysharon.com.
